The installation went exactly according to plan, and the final install looks great. I used a mechanic's creeper and some ramps, which was extremely helpful. The videos on the website were excellent, showing every little detail. I cut an extra hole in the bumper for a 7-way connector, and I'm very happy with how it turned out.
It’s been a year and this adapter has served me exceptionally. I especially like that it maintains a 4 flat pin connector, eliminating the need for some stupid plug that just gets lost. When this connector rusts out, which it will beauce they all do at some point in time. I will most certainly buy this again to replace it. 100% recommend you buy.
Disclaimer I 3D printed my own mount for it. And did not use the included bracket.
This is a good piece of gear. It could use 2 improvements however: the corrugated plastic wire wrap is not waterproof and admits water into the rear of the socket. You need to seal it well on installation to prevent electrical shorts (which I experienced). Second, the hardware supplied is not stainless steel, which means that removing it is very difficult. I had to replace my first one due to an electrical short, and the screws were corroded solid.
I checked to see what my 4- flat connector had before replacing it today. ( Taillights and brake lights had been inconsistent) All we're working if I wiggled the connection. I plugged in the new harness and nothing worked now. It was just a 15 amp fuse under the hood that blew when I replaced the harness without unhooking the battery. Everything works as it should now.Thanks for the help with ordering the right parts!
Installed with zci 4 pin and running lights dont work. Emailed support and they were no help

Bought this for my Jeep JK! After the first trip I noticed the brake and turn signals were not working. I traced the problem to the trailer plug. I contacted E-Trailer and told them the issue. After a brief conversation with the expert on wiring at E-Trailer, he sent me a replacement at no charge!! Problem solved! Good solid company that stands behind their products!!!

After spending hours trying to make the wiring adapter work, I finally gave up. Since I was attempting to connect it to a 2010 Audi Q5, the exact vehicle used in the demo video, I expected things to go smoothly. Obviously I was wrong.I should mention that I'm a "car guy". I've rebuilt engines and wired radios so this shouldn't be a difficult task.

Etrailer provides a way to to install a 7 way connector on a Ford Escape, which the Ford dealer cannot do. And it works great

I personally haven't ever seen someone add the hole to the bumper for the 7-way...it looks so clean! Thanks for sharing the photo and your genius!
